It’s important to remember that the word breathwork includes many different techniques. Some common reasons people seek out breathwork is for stress reduction, emotional release, trauma healing, personal transformation, and a long list of physical benefits (better sleep, reduced pain, etc.). The type of technique you practice will determine what type of outcome may be possible.

One reason I absolutely love breathwork is because it is accessible to everyone. It does not matter how much money you have in your bank account. It does not matter where you live. If you use your lungs to breathe, then breathwork can be an amazing tool for you. And now, thanks to the internet, you can experience guided sessions, even if you don’t have an instructor located near you.

I guide two different types of breathwork sessions: transformational sessions and restorative sessions.

  • In transformational sessions, we use circular connected breathing to activate your nervous system in a way that can allow you to release suppressed emotions, gain clarity, experience massive healing, and beyond. The was the first type of breathwork session I ever personally experienced, and that single session catapulted me into a massive personal shift of healing and transformation (leading me to teach this to the world now today!).

  • In restorative sessions, we use downregulating breathing techniques to calm the nervous system into a relaxed state (accessing the parasympathetic nervous system state). These sessions are designed for relaxation, and are often a great starting point for breathwork if you’re not ready to dive into a transformational session.

You may be wondering if an online class is as effective as an in-person class. In short, the answer is YES! The main difference is that within an online class, I cannot offer you hands-on touch like I do in my in-person classes. But trust me when I say that the in-person touch is merely icing on the cake and not a requirement to experience the benefits that a breathwork session can offer.

At this point in my life, I’ve actually personally breathed in more online sessions than in-person sessions. And I’ve guided more sessions online than in-person. Don’t get me wrong, in-person classes are great, and if you ever have the opportunity to experience an in-person class, I definitely recommend giving it a try. But if that’s not an option for you, you still have access with an online class option.

There are actually a few benefits to an online class that you can’t get with an in-person class:

  1. When your session is done, you can relax in your state of bliss (or whatever state you’re in) for as long as you’d like, with no rush to have to leave the space.

  2. Some people feel more reserved with expressing their emotions while breathing in a group setting, so if you’re breathing in your own space, you may feel more inclined to let down your guard and fully feel whatever is coming up for you.

  3. Some people feel super relaxed or sleepy following a session. If you’re breathing in an online class, you won’t need to drive away from the space afterwards.

  4. You get a recording of the class to watch up to 7 days following the session. So if your plans change last minute, or you want to experience the journey more than once, you have that option with an online class.
